Learn about the principles of lighting a portrait in the studio. Explore successful lighting set-ups, and talk about how to work with a subject, choice of background, and styling. Using examples of studio portraiture, instructors will begin by showing participants how to light the face. Then, students will be introduced to four, pre-made sets: a high key-set, a low-key set, a back-lit set with reflectors, and a split-light set. The instructor will demonstrate each set and talk about the lighting design. Participants will then have time to rotate through the sets and make portraits. This workshop runs from 6:30-8:30pm on August 25, 2015. Please note: These classes are offered as workshops and not as occupational training programs.
