ZBrush is a revolutionary 3D sculpting and painting application used throughout the film and gaming industry. This is a must have skillset for any artist looking to start a career in the 3D Universe. In this workshop, students will first learn how to use a Wacom tablet, which provides a much higher level of precision, and pressure sensitivity than a mouse. Students will learn to effectively navigate the ZBrush interface and the 3D workspace, to get started creating their own three dimensional works of art. We will then explore the different ways that artists can interact with their model, using brushes and alphas to create the desired forms. Each student will create their own character bust, which will be reviewed at the conclusion of the workshop. This workshop runs two weeknights, Wednesdays, 4/22 & 4/29, 6:30-9:30pm. Please note: These classes are offered as workshops and not as occupational training programs.
This evening long workshop will introduce participants to the principles of lighting a portrait in the studio. Inspired by examples of great portraits, we will explore successful lighting set ups, talk about how to work with a subject, choice of background, and styling. Instructor will begin by showing examples of studio portraiture, talking about lighting the face. There will be 4 sets pre-made, a high key set, a low key set, a back-lit set with reflectors and a split-light set with kino flows. The instructor will demonstrate each set and talk about the lighting design. Participants will then have time to rotate through the sets and make portraits. This workshop runs from 6:30-9:30pm. Please note: These classes are offered as workshops and not as occupational training programs.
